“Der Hirt auf dem Felsen“ – Apollo Ensemble
A lone shepherd (Hirt) stands high on a mountain rock (Felsen) and longs for spring – that’s what Schubert’s beautiful song – after which this program is named – is about.
The soprano Renate Arends knows like no other how to strike the melancholy, longing, anger and cheerfulness in the songs of Schubert and Mozart.
The balance between David Rabinovich’s violin playing, Marion Boshuizen’s fortepiano and the vocals creates a musical unity that allows these masterful composers to come into their own.
